Test

Lynne Bernstein, Co-owner/Instructor

I began practicing Pilates in 1996. I quickly realized that Pilates was something that I would be doing for a very long time. I had exercised consistently over the previous 20 years but nothing I did ever made me feel more aware of my movements and muscles. I felt strong and graceful. I began taking classes 4 to 5 days a week, both privates and group classes. In 2002 after much encouragement from my instructors, I took the leap and changed careers from corporate software sales to become a Certified Pilates Instructor. I received my certification from A Body of Work in San Francisco and never looked back.

I love the variety of clients I see every day. My practice is evenly divided between those individuals who come to see me because they have knee, back, shoulder or hip pain, and those who just want to get in or stay in shape. I feel fortunate that many of my clients have been with me since I began teaching. The opportunity to watch their growth and increasing love for Pilates is very rewarding.

I am a long time member of the Pilates Method Alliance. I have continued to expand my expertise and education through the years, receiving certification from Turning Point Studios in Movement in Medicine with Nora St John and Active Isolated Stretching: The Mattes Technique with Aaron Mattes. In addition I have enjoyed the opportunity to work with internationally recognized Pilates and Movement Educators Kathy Grant, Rael Isacowitz, Eric Franklin and Suzanne Martin.
